About Stockerau

Stockerau is definitely worth the trip. With a population of around 15,000 people, it is the largest town in the Weinviertel region, upon whose threshold it sits.

Although it is surrounded by beautiful meadows and wetlands, and by the pristine countryside of the Alpine foothills, the town itself certainly has nothing to be shy about either.

Here you will find culture, enjoyable experiences, quiet and recreation aplenty. Stockerau has something perfect in store no matter what your taste happens to be.

The town owes much of its fame to the Stockerau Festival, presented every summer against the backdrop of the Baroque parish church.

But during the rest of the year as well, there certainly is no shortage of culture either. For example, at the extraordinary Siegfried Marcus Automobile Museum, always guaranteed to set the pulse of any true car fan racing with excitement.

Nights of classical song, exhibitions, concerts  and readings are also part of the town's year-round cultural programme.

Sports and action aren't short-changed either.

But with countless opportunities, it is often so hard to choose: tennis, squash, golf and mini golf, ice stock, beach volleyball, ice skating, plus a big in- and outdoor pool.  Whatever your taste, we definitely have something perfect for you.
